About Allie Aitken
Hi, I’m Allie (or Allison, if I’m in trouble), a freelance communications consultant based in Vancouver, Canada, and the human behind Organized Allie.
Since 2012, I’ve helped businesses untangle their messaging, connect with their teams, and share their stories with purpose.
Here’s some more info about me.
As an independent contractor, I choose projects and clients that align with my strengths and values. It’s how I build long-term relationships, stay curious, and stay focused on meaningful work. My business structure also keeps me agile, making it easy for clients to bring me in as a seamlessly integrated part of their team, whether for a short-term project or ongoing support.
I genuinely enjoy the detail-oriented tasks that many people find boring, like writing instructions, guides, and internal documentation.
As a formally trained educator, my B.Ed and classroom experience give me a deep understanding of how people learn. This foundation helps me create communications that speak to different learning styles and make complex information easier to understand and apply.
My favourite part of the job is helping clients solve real business challenges. That might mean optimizing a clunky SOP to boost compliance, documenting processes to improve efficiency, or developing a brand voice that brings clarity and consistency to your messaging.
Thriving on change, I’ve lived in three countries and have called more than 20 places home in my 40-some years. I love travelling to far away place, but also exploring closer to my base in beautiful British Columbia (usually with my furry sidekick, Martha, in tow).
A perfect workday for me includes a clear writing brief, a creative work session with a client, scoring the most coveted seat at the café, lofi tunes, and a solid stretch of flow state.
If you're looking for a collaborative, thoughtful partner to help make your communications clearer (and more human), I’d love to connect.
